Repelling cockroaches is one portion of an integrated pest management solution for ridding your home of cockroach infestations. If the roaches don't like the environment of your home, they are less likely to enter and nest in the first place. If you can find roach repellents that don't also repel all the humans you know - even better.

The following 5 roach repellents might just do the trick to make your home the last place a roach wants to live:

Pepper Spray - Roaches don't like red pepper. So, if you spray surfaces in your kitchen and bath with a solution containing red pepper, the will avoid those surfaces. An easy recipe to whip up a batch of spray is to mix 2 tablespoons of Tobasco Sauce (the primary ingredients are red pepper and vinegar) with 1 quart of water. Pour it into a pump spray bottle and mist it onto surfaces. A word of caution, you will be misting pepper spray into the air. Until the mist settles, you are likely to sneeze more than a few times. Consider wearing a mask when you apply the spray.

Moth Balls - Roaches, like moths, don't like the smell of moth balls. One common remedy is to drop a couple moth balls behind the stove to keep the bugs from hanging out back there. One or two in the cabinet under the sink can be helpful as well. Moth balls are not good for humans, so don't place them near food or food prep areas.

Cedar Products - The oils in cedar wood are an effective natural deterrent for a host of bugs. There are many products available to take advantage of this fact. Look for thin cedar veneers that can be used to line drawers and cabinets, cedar balls, blocks, chips, etc to place in drawers and closets, and (of course) cedar boards and paneling to line closet walls for the ultimate protection.

Mint Oil - Mint oil is a primary ingredient in several non-toxic roach sprays. The roaches avoid it, and when coated with it, they suffocate. The sprays don't kill as fast as typical poisons, but they are safe to use in the kitchen and around pets and children. It is possible to create a spray, like the pepper spray, by diluting some Dr. Brauner's Peppermint Castile Soap in water and then applying with a spray bottle. I haven't tried it, but you might be able to create your own roach spray this way if the soap concentration is high enough.

Bay Leaves - Bay leaves are another sent that roaches avoid. You can pick up a bunch of dry bay leaves in the spice section of any grocery. Place whole leaves or small sachets of crushed leaves in closets and cabinets. This is a good option for kitchen cupboards.

With the exception of moth balls, there are no hazardous chemicals in any of these roach repellents. Give them a try, in combination with baiting, sealing, and applications of diatomaceous earth and boric acid to eliminate roaches from your home.

If the answer is yes to any one of these questions, it's time you looked into a pest bird deterrent.

Boat owners, is your pride and joy covered with bird droppings? Does your beautiful blue canvas boat cover rip due to hardened bird poop? Another bird deterrent that has proven itself to be effective in many applications is the Bird Spike strip. Armed with menacing looking spikes that discourage pest birds from landing, these simple devices have kept pigeons and other large birds from ledges, windowsills, rooftops, commercial signs, billboards, parapet walls, I-beams, and other open areas. Spike strips are currently available with flexible stainless steel spikes or rigid unbreakable polycarbonate spikes. The blunted spikes are harmless to birds and will not cut or injure people. They typically come in two-foot sections and are easily installed with screws or adhesive. Installed properly, their non-reflective metal finish makes them all but invisible from the ground.

Birds really can't stand this next deterrent--Bird Gel. Easily applied using a caulking gun on virtually any flat surface, this stuff dries, but stays sticky. When birds land on it, they can't wait to get their little footsies off. Safe for birds and humans, bird gel is ideal for ledges, rooflines, beams, signs, conduit, pipes and other problem areas. The sticky gel typically lasts up to 6 months outdoors.

Next up is the utterly simple Bird Slope. These angled, slippery PVC panels prevent birds from landing. Their little footsies scramble and scamper like "Road Runner." Pest birds soon give up and move on to more secure landing zones. Easily installed on ledges, eaves, beams and other areas, the best bird slopes are U.V. protected and sun and weather resistant. The panels provide anti-perching, anti-roosting protection against all types of birds, including swallows, starlings, pigeons and seagulls. Some panels have a "snap-on" extender, which allows them to easily adapt to wider ledges and coverage areas.

Still another effective pest bird deterrent--Bird Netting--has proven its worth in orchards, vineyards and other large areas. There's heavy duty bird netting made of high strength polyethylene for really demanding applications--like air hangars, garages, factories, warehouses, eaves and canopies. Better bird netting is often made from a U.V.-resistant mesh for lasting durability. You can order netting in various mesh sizes and cuts to deter a wide variety of bird species and types.

To give pest birds a shocking reception, you might try the Electric-Track bird deterrents currently being marketed. Birds land on these and get a mild electric shock that persuades them to move on. Ideal for small and large pest birds, some electric tracks feature a low-profile design that's barely visible from the ground. The tracks usually get their "juice" from an AC charger or solar charger.

This is what some people want. They don't want the critters but they don't want to harm them either. They want to get rid of them naturally. If that is the Case, here are a few suggestions:

Repellants - Squirrels have natural enemies with one of them being the fox. Because of this, many manufacturers make repellants from fox urine or something very similar smelling. Other manufacturers  have other products made to repel the pesty little critters.

If you want to try something that you can get at  your local grocery store, try moth balls. This is a quick, simple and cheap method.

If you were to search the net, you would read many many instances of people using moth balls to keep the squirrels away. Back a hundred (or two) years ago, moth balls were very popular. However, as mentioned above the use of moth balls is 'dissed' by many as being totally worthless. Only by trying will you know for sure.

You can try using a repellant like chili peppers. Buy the hottest you can find.  Habaneras and cascabellas may even work. Just buy the peppers, grind them up and stick them in your flower pots or around your garden. Squirrels don't like hot stuff.

One thing to remember though with squirrel propellants (or any animal propellant)  is that after a heavy rain they will be diluted or washed away, thus necessitating a re-application.

To keep them out of your bird feeder, you can buy special bird feeders that tilt or spin when something heavy, like a squirrel, sits on it (as opposed to a bird). Or, baffles can also be placed on the pole so they can't climb up it.

You can feed the birds something that squirrels don't like. It is said that squirrels don't like safflower seeds because they are too bitter. So, fill your bird feeder with safflower seeds (which is already usually quite common in bird feed) The birds will still come and dine but hopefully your squirrels won't.

You can also try to keep them away from certain areas by creating a special feeding area for the squirrels. This could be one of those stands with a cob of corn on - like you must have seen, or containers full of nuts, berries corn or sunflower seeds. Just make sure this 'squirrel feeding area' is far from your garden, house or whatever else you are trying to keep them from.

If you need to get them out of your attic, you use a strobe light. There are some manufacturers who specialize in this specific product for getting rid of squirrels and other animals who may be inhabiting places they shouldn't be. They are quiet, humane and effortless on your part. (but they may not be cheap)

After they leave, just make sure you determine how they got in and board it up so they don't return.

Lastly, you can use a "live trap" to get rid of squirrels. A "live trap" is where you catch them safely in a cage and then take them somewhere to release them.

Depending on how quick you want to get rid of the squirrels you can place the trap out in the yard (or wherever) and prop the door open such that it can't shut and trap the squirrel. By doing this you are giving the squirrels the chance to get used to the cage without being afraid of it.

Then after they have been exposed to it for a while, put some nice bait in it (like peanut butter) and you'll probably have your pest trapped within a short period of time.

You have just read a few methods to get rid of squirrels naturally. None of These proteins inhuman or damage. Just give one or two a try and see how they work. Some of them are really not that expensive to try not to have something to lose, but a great experience to win.

Today, I would like to discuss are very cool form of mouse repellent. This method is formally called ultrasonic mouse deterrent. Some other people refer to it as sonic mouse deterrent, but after all is said and done, it doesn't really make a huge difference.

Anyways, in this article, I would like to discuss three different aspects of this particular pest repellent product. First off, I would like to discuss the basics of what they are, then what they do, and then what they cost. After going through all of that information, we will consider what some other people are saying about them.

An ultrasonic mouse deterrent is quite easy to figure out. I consider them to simply be small boom boxes, with Speakers included, that only play one channel or song. That channel, or song if you will, is the one that deters the Mice away. It's basically and ultrasonic noise or frequency that has a repelling effect on Mice. I have heard of people using these things for awhile now, but never for mice.

Anyways, not all of them are made to insert directly into a wall. Some of them can be placed in the middle of a garden or wherever the owner would like. This versatility is definitely a plus in my book. Another big question regarding these things is whether or not the sound emitted can be heard by human beings. Most people say that the sound emitted is a very subtle buzzing noise that is barely noticeable. There are very few people that have been saying that they can barely stand it.

Now that we have covered all of that, it is time to talk about prices and reviews. Ultrasonic mouse repellent products are usually cheap at somewhere at or below twenty dollars. Reviews are a little bit stacked to either side. Its really hit or miss with the customer reviews. It really depends on the product, but there are a few items out there that have more one sided customer reviews.
